84 mg (0.153 mmol) (3SR,4RS)-3-Benzyloxymethyl-4-(4-methoxy-benzylsulfanyl)-1-(naphthalene-2-sulfonyl)-piperidine were dissolved in 2 ml TFA and treated at 0° C. with 0.244 ml (1.53 mmol) of triethylsilane. After 2 h at 0° C. and 18 h at room temperature, the mixture was evaporated and purified by precipitation with Et2O/pentane to give 40 mg (61%) of (3SR,4RS)-3-benzyloxymethyl-1-(naphthalene-2-sulfonyl)-piperidine-4-thiol, MS: 427 (M).
