4-Amino-5-isobutylamino-10-aza-tricyclo[6.3.1.02,7]dodeca-2(7),3,5-triene-10-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (250 mg, 0.74 mmol) from Example 29B was dissolved in ethanol (10 mL) and HOAc (2 mL) and treated with 1-ethoxyethylenemalononitrile (118 mg, 0.87 mmol). The reaction proceeded as in Example 28C (18 h) and was worked up similarly to provide product (TLC 3% methanol/CH2Cl2 (NH3) Rf 0.57).
