Reaction Steps

1 g of the compound [25-1] was dissolved in 10 mL of methanol, then 200 mg of a carbon catalyst of 20% palladium hydroxide was added thereto, and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature under hydrogen atmosphere. The catalyst was filtered through celite, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, to obtain 710 mg of tert-butyl ((1S)-1-{4-[hydroxy(piperidin-4-yl) methyl]phenyl}ethyl)carbamate [37-1]. The compound [37-1] (hereinafter, referred to as the compound [37-1]) was used in the subsequent reaction without further purification.
