Treatment of (S)-1-chloro-3-(3-(2-ethylbutoxy)phenyl)propan-2-ol with sodium azide following the method used in Example 6 gave (S)-1-azido-3-(3-(2-ethylbutoxy)phenyl)propan-2-ol which was used without further purification.
