Mitsunobu coupling of phenol 58 with 4-chlorobenzylalcohol followed by flash chromatography (5 to 30% EtOAc-hexanes gradient) gave 2434344-chlorobenzyloxy)phenyl)propyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione as a colorless oil. Yield (2.82 g, 71%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.79-7.82 (m, 2H), 7.67-7.69 (m, 2H), 7.31-7.38 (m, 4H), 7.15 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 6.79-6.81 (m, 2H), 6.70-6.73 (m, 1H), 4.99 (s, 2H), 3.72 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 2H), 2.65 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 2.02 (dddd, J=7.2 Hz, 2H).
