1α,3β-Bis(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)-20(R)-hydroxypregna-5,7,16-triene (316 mg, 0.57 mmol) was treated with N,N-dimethylacrylamide (175 mg, 1.77 mmol) and sodium hydride (60% in oil, 36 mg, 0.91 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (5.7 ml) in the same manner as shown in Example 4(1) (at 0° C. for 1.5 hours and then at room temperature for 1.5 hours), followed by work up and purification using column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=2:1) to give the titled compound (352 mg, 93.9%) as a colorless oil.
