Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of the compound obtained from example 26 (35 mg, 0.1 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) cooled to 0° C. was added TMS-Cl (25 μL, 0.2 mmol). After 30 minutes, the volatiles were removed under reduced pressure and the residue was triturated several times with diethyl ether to obtain the hydrochloride salt of (2S)-1-[N-(2-phenylhexahydro-2,5-methanopentalen-3a(1H)-yl)glycyl]pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile as an off-white solid (38 mg).
