Reaction Steps

Following General Procedure A and using N-(3,5-difluorophenylacetyl)-L-alanine (from Example B2) and methyl (S)-2-amino-3-(2-pyridyl)propionate hydrochloride (Synthetech), the title compound was prepared as a solid (mp=121-124° C.). The reaction was monitored by tlc (Rf=0.39 in 10%MeOH/DCM) and the product was purified by silica gel column chromatography.
