Sodium hydride (89.1 mg, 2.04 mmol, 1.1 eq) was washed twice with n-hexane under argon and suspended in 1 ml dimethyl formamide. (4-o-Tolyl-pyridin-3-yl)-methanol (370 mg, 1.86 mmol), dissolved in 4 ml dimethyl formamide, was added dropwise and the mixture was stirred 1 h at room temperature. 3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl bromide (627 mg, 2.04 mmol, 1 eq), dissolved in 2 ml dimethyl formamide, was added and the mixture was stirred 2.5 h at room temperature.
