Procedure

In 10 ml of 50% water-containing ethanol is suspended 0.5 g of (R)-1-cyclopropyl-8-difluoromethoxy-7-(1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-5-isoindolyl)-4-oxo-1,4-dihydro-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid and the suspension is warmed to 50° C., after which 0.14 g of phosphoric acid is added to the warmed suspension to form a uniform solution. Subsequently, the solution is stirred at the same temperature for 10 minutes and then subjected to filtration. The filtrate is cooled to room temperature and then the crystals deposited are collected by filtration to obtain 0.32 g of (R)-1-cyclopropyl-8-difluoromethoxy-7-(1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-5-isoindolyl)-4-oxo-1,4-dihydro-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid phosphate.
