Reaction Steps
1 g of the product obtained in Step E is added dropwise to a suspension of 93 ml of ethyl chloroformate and 0.89 g of K2CO3 in 5 ml of toluene. After 12 hours at ambient temperature, the reaction mixture is diluted with water, extracted with toluene and then concentrated under reduced pressure. Chromatography on silica gel (dichloromethane/methanol: 95/5) enables the expected product to be isolated.
