Reaction Steps
Methyl 4-fluoro-2-hydroxybenzoate (0.88 mol) was dissolved in CH3CN (1.5 l). Para methoxy benzylchloride (1.3 mol) and K2CO3 (2.2 mol) were added. The mixture was refluxed for 12 h. The mixture was filtered to remove the solid. The solvent was removed under vacuum. The resulting residue was purified by flash column chromatography (eluent: CH2Cl2). Yield 270 g (90% purity, 95% yield).
