To a solution of ethyl 6-chloro-7-(4-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-hydroxyethylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylate (0.056 g, 0.11 mmol) in a solution of 3:1 THF/ethanol (2 ml) was added 1M sodium hydroxide (0.22 ml, 0.22 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 16 hours. The reaction was concentrated, taken up in water, acidified with 1M hydrochloric acid, and extracted twice with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with saturated sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to yield 46 mg of the title compound (87% yield).
