Reaction Steps

To a solution of ethyl 6-chloro-7-(4-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-methoxyethylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylate (0.067 g, 0.12 mmol) in 3:1 THF/ethanol (2 ml) was added 1M sodium hydroxide (0.26 ml, 0.26 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 16 hours, and then concentrated, diluted with water, and acidified with 1M hydrochloric acid. The mixture was extracted twice with EtOAc, and the combined organic layers were washed with saturated sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to yield 56 mg of the title compound (88% yield).
