Procedure
To a solution of 6-chloro-7-(4-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-methoxyethylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylic acid (0.056 g, 0.108 mmol) in methanol (2 ml) was added 0.5M sodium methanolate in methanol (0.228 ml, 0.114 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 16 hours. The reaction was concentrated, and the residue was taken up in dichloromethane and hexanes, and concentrated to yield 56 mg of the title compound (95.9% yield). MS (apci) m/z=515.8 (M-Na+2H).
