A 50-mL round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stirrer was charged with 156a (60 mg, 0.088 mmol), NaBH4 (17 mg, 0.44 mmol), and methanol (10 mL). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. It was then quenched with water and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by reverse-phase prep-HPLC to afford 156 (15 mg, 25%).
