At room temperature, to a solution of 182a (140 mg, 0.27 mmol) in methanol (5 mL) was added sodium borohydride (31 mg, 0.82 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 20 minutes and quenched with water (1 mL). It was then concentrated under reduced pressure and the resulting residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography eluting with 60:1 dichloromethane/methanol to afford 182 as a white solid (60 mg, 43%). MS-ESI: [M+H]+ 514.2. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.89 (d, J=2.5 Hz, 1H), 8.82 (s, 1H), 8.70 (d, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 8.36 (d, J=6.5 Hz, 1H), 8.31 (s, 1H), 8.20 (s, 1H), 7.89 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.55 (d, J=5.0 Hz, 1H), 6.80 (d, J=9.5 Hz, 1H), 4.44-4.42 (m, 3H), 3.75 (s, 3H), 2.99-2.98 (m, 2H), 2.88-2.87 (m, 2H), 2.03-1.98 (m, 4H).
