A 50-mL round-bottomed flask equipped with a reflux condenser was charged with 268c (150 mg, 0.53 mmol), {3-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-2-{4,4-dimethyl-9-oxo-1,10-diazatricyclo[6.4.0.02,6]dodeca-2(6),7-dien-10-yl}pyridin-4-yl}boronic acid 199e (80.4 mg, 0.21 mmol), Pd(dppf)Cl2 (17.2 mg, 0.021 mmol), K3PO4 (89 mg, 0.42 mmol), sodium acetate (57.1 mg, 0.42 mmol), water (0.2 mL), and acetonitrile (10 mL). After three cycles of vacuum/argon flush, the mixture was heated at 90° C. for 2.5 hrs. It was then cooled to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the resulting residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography eluting with dichloromethane/methanol (30:1 to 20:1) to afford 268d (110 mg, 37.2%) as brown solid. MS-ESI: [M+H]+ 556.4.
