A mixture of 3.0 g of 3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-6-iodo-1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-quinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 3.64 g of tributylvinyltin and Pd(PPh3)4 in 2 ml of toluene is irradiated in a microwave field for 30 minutes at 130° C. The reaction mixture is filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue is chromatographed on silica gel, eluting with a DCM/EtOAc mixture from (100/0, v/v) to (80/20, v/v) to give 1.4 g of the expected product.
