To tert-butyl (6R,7R)-6-{[acetyl(methyl)amino]methyl}-7-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,4-oxazepane-4-carboxylate (100 mg) was added 4.0 M hydrogen chloride-ethyl acetate solution (4 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The residue obtained by concentration under reduced pressure was separated by HPLC (C18, mobile phase: water/acetonitrile (containing 10 mM NH4HCO3)), and the obtained fraction was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (60 mg).
