Reaction Steps

A mixture of pyridin-3-amine (2.13 mmol), 2-(benzyloxy)-5-chlorobenzaldehyde (1.93 mmol) and Mg(ClO4)2 (0.579 mmol) was stirred at 50° C. in dichloromethane (10 mL) for 4 h. After cooling to room temperature, the solution was filtered through 0.45 micron filter and the solvent was evaporated to afford solid. Yield 96%. 1H NMR: 5.16 (s, 2H), 6.97 (d, 1H, J=8.96 Hz), 7.28-7.40 (m, 8H), 7.48-7.52 (m, 1H), 8.15 (d, 1H, J=2.70 Hz), 8.45-8.48 (m, 2H).
