Procedure

Na2S2O4 (260 mg, 3.0 mmol) was poured into a 20 ml flask and the inside of the flask was replaced with argon. Water (5.0 ml) was added thereto and then, H(CF2)6CH2I (442 mg, 1.0 mmol) was added dropwise using acetonitrile (5.0 ml). After ten-hour stirring at 70° C., purification was conducted by adding 3N—HCl to the reaction product, extracting with ether, extracting into water layer with an aqueous solution of saturated NaHCO3, again making the solution acidic with hydrochloric acid and then extracting into ether layer. After distilling off the solvent, drying was carried out under reduced pressure to obtain H(CF2)6CH2SO2H (359 mg, 0.94 mmol).
