Reaction Steps

Following the procedure of Example 5(c) 3,5-bis-(4-cyano-phenoxy)-benzoic acid 0.45 g (1.26 mmol) and piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.23 g, 1.26 mmol) were used to afford 0.5 g of the required product. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 1.40 (9H, sm), 3.35 (6H, m), 3.55 (2H, m) 7.02 (2H, d), 7.08 (1H, t), 7.26 (2H, d), 7.88 (2H, d).
