Following the procedure of Example 9(e) 3,5-bis-(4-cyano-phenoxy)-benzoic acid 1.0 g (2.8 mmol) and (4-hydroxy-cyclohexyl)-carbamic acid benzyl ester (0.69 g, 2.8 mmol) were used to afford 0.8 g of the required product. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 1.21 (4H, m), 1.32 (4H, m), 3.12 (1H, m), 3.32 (1H, m), 4.51 (2H, s), 5.21 (2H, s), 7.3 (10H, m), 7.89 (2H, d).
