To a stirred solution of (S)-4-{(Z)-2-[1-(4-chloro-phenyl)-cyclopropyl]-vinyl}-2,2-dimethyl-oxazolidine-3-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.55 g) at room temperature in methanol (2 ml) under an argon atmosphere was added platinum oxide (31 mg). The mixture was stirred at r.t. under a hydrogen atmosphere for 1 hour. The catalyst was filtered off, the filtrate was concentrated and purified by column chromatography (SiO2; heptane/EtOAc) to give (S)-4-{2-[1-(4-chloro-phenyl)-cyclopropyl]-ethyl}-2,2-dimethyl-oxazolidine-3-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.5 g) as a white solid. MS (ISP): 380.4 ([M+H]+))
