Reaction Steps
6.6 of ethyl 1-cyclopropyl-5,6,7,8-tetrafluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinoline-carboxylate and 3.4 g of ethyl cyanoacetate are initially introduced into 100 ml of dioxane. 1.16 g of NaH are added in portions at room temperature. The mixture is heated to reflux for 6 hours and then diluted using water. After acidification using HCl, 9.4 g of the title compound can be isolated.
