Reaction Steps
1.0 g of 1,3-dimethyl-6-[4-(3-[4-chlorophenoxy]-2-hydroxypropyl)piperazin-1-yl]-2,4(1H,3H)-pyrimidinedione was dissolved in 30 ml of dimethylformamide, and 0.25 g of sodium hydride (60% and oily) was further added thereto. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, and 0.85 ml of methoxyethyl bromide was then added thereto. After stirring for 3 days, 100 ml of chloroform was added to the reaction solution This solution was washed with water and then dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified through a silica gel column chromatograph (chloroform/methanol=30/1 in volume ratio), thereby obtaining 2.0 g of 1,3-dimethyl-6-[4-(3-[4-chlorophenoxy]-2-(2-methoxyethoxy)propyl)piperazin-1-yl]-2,4(1H,3H)-pyrimidinedione.
