2.88 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and 94 μl of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid were added to a suspension of 305 mg of (2S,4S)-2-(4-carbamoylmethyl-1-piperazinylcarbonyl)-4-(4-methoxybenzylthio)-1-(4-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl)pyrrolidine (prepared as described in Preparation 10) in 577 μl of anisole, whilst ice-cooling, and then the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. It was then treated in a similar manner to that described in Example 13(1), to give 316 mg of the title compound as a powder.
