The tert-butyl ester of Example 9 (145 mg, 0.327 mmol) was dissolved in 5 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and stirred for 16 h at room temperature after which time the reaction was concentrated in vacuo. The resulting material was radially chromatographed on silica gel eluting with EtOH/CH2Cl2 /HOAc (5/95/1) to give the title compound (89 mg, 77%) as a colorless solid. Anal calcd for C17H20N2O4Cl2 : C, 52.73; H, 5.20; N, 7.23. Found: C, 52.43; H, 5.32; N, 7.02. DSC=204.6°-210.2° [email protected] J/g. MS M+1 calcd for C17H20N2O4Cl2 387, found 387.
