Using a similar protocol as described in Example 16 employing 31C (0.11 g, 0.44 mmol) and ethyl 5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-carboxylate (0.10 g, 0.48 mmol) as starting materials afforded 130 mg (71%) of 31 as a solid. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): δ 1.80 (s, 4H), 2.50 (s, 4H), 3.65 (s, 2H), 4.30 (m, 1H), 4.65 (m, 1H), 4.75 (m, 1H), 5.05 (m, 1H), 5.15 (m, 1H), 6.50 (m, 2H), 7.30 (t, 1H), 7.55 (m, 3H), 8.20 (d, 2H), MS (APCI+) m/z 423 [M+H]+, LC purity: 95%.
