Reaction Steps

A solution comprising of rac-1-(4-Fluoro-phenyl)-2-methyl-3-oxo-2,6-diaza-spiro[3.5]nonane-6-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (830 mg, 2.38 mmol) and TFA (1 ml, 12.98 mmol) in DCM (15 ml) was stirred at RT overnight. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the resulting crude product was dissolved with ethyl acetate and washed with a saturated solution of sodium bicarbonate. The organic layer was separated, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo to yield a the title compound as a yellow oil;
