Reaction Steps

NaOH (0.19 g, 4.8 mmol) was added to solution of trimethylsulfoxonium iodide (1.06 g, 4.8 mmol) in anhydrous DMF (20 mL) and stirred for 20 minutes. Then 69 (1 g, 2.4 mmol) was added in one portion and the reaction mixture was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature and left stirring overnight. The solution was poured into water, acidified by HCl to pH=6. The precipitate was filtered off and recrystallized from EtOH: H2O:DMF (1:1:1) mixture yielding 70 (0.14 g, 15%). M. Wt. 384. LCMS [M+H]+=385.
