Reaction Steps

To the product of Step 1 (0.15 g, 0.243 mmol) in dichlormethane (2 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (1.48 g, 12.98 mmol) and the reaction was stirred until complete. The reaction was diluted with water and the mixture extracted three times with dichloromethane. The combined organic layers were dried over magnesium sulfate; filtered and concentrated to give ethyl 4-methoxy-4-[5-(3-methyl-5-{[4-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-2-yl]amino}phenyl)-1,3-thiazol-2-yl]cyclohexanecarboxylate. MS ESI: [M+H]+ m/z 521.2.
