Reaction Steps

The product of Step 2 (366 mg, 0.710 mmol) was taken up in MeOH (8.0 ml) in a microwave vial, and sodium hydroxide (1.0 M in H2O, 1.42 ml, 1.42 mmol) was added. The reaction was heated to 100° C. for 10 min in the microwave. The colorless solution was adjusted to a pH of 3-4 with 1 N HCl, diluted with water, and extracted with 15% IPA/CHCl3 (2×). The combined organic layers were dried (MgSO4), filtered and evaporated to a yellow solid that was triturated with CH2Cl2/hexanes, filtered, and dried to provide the title compound (334 mg, 0,666 mmol, 94% yield) as a pale yellow powder.
