10-Camphorsulfonic acid (49 mg, 0.21 mmol) was added to 3-(2-Methoxy-ethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[d]azepin-7-ylamine (44 mg, 0.20 mmol) and (2,5-Dichloro-pyrimidin-4-yl)-[2-(propane-2-sulfonyl)-phenyl]-amine (66 mg, 0.19 mmol) in Isopropyl alcohol (2 mL). The mixture was irradiated in a CEM microwave (140° C., 30 min) MP-Carbonate (2.69 mmol/g loading; 0.16 g, 0.43 mmol) was added and the mixture stirred for 1 h, then filtered, washing with 2 mL iPrOH. Brine was added, but the only ppt was NaCl. The aq. layer was extracted with EtOAc, and combined with the iPrOH, dried and conc. in vacuo. The residue was taken up in DCM with a few drops of MeOH and chromatographed (ISCO, 2×12 g, 0-10% MeOH:DCM) to afford 5-Chloro-N*2*-[3-(2-methoxy-ethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benzo[d]azepin-7-yl]-N*4*-[2-(propane-2-sulfonyl)-phenyl]-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine as a colorless oil (63 mg, 62%). LCMS 530 (M+H), 1H-NMR (CDCl3): 9.58 (s, 1H), 8.57 (d, 1H, J=8.4 Hz), 8.13 (s, 1H), 7.91 (d, 1H, J=7.9 Hz), 7.59 (dd, 1H, J=7.8, 8.1 Hz), 7.24 (m, 3H), 7.02 (d, 1H, J=7.9 Hz), 6.94 (s, 1H), 3.55 (m, 2H), 3.38 (s, 3H), 3.24 (sept, 1H, J=6.8 Hz), 2.88 (m, 4H), 2.73 (m, 6H), 1.31 (d, 6H, J=6.8 Hz).
