To a slurry of silica gel (0.1 g) in DCM (3 mL) was added sodium periodate (0.13 mL, 0.087 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 10 minutes. tert-Butyl (1-(2-(7-(1,2-dihydroxyethyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridin-3-yl)quinolin-8-yl)piperidin-4-yl)methylcarbamate (30 mg, 0.058 mmol) in DCM (2 mL) was then added to the slurry. The reaction was stirred for 30 minutes, then filtered and washed with DCM (20 mL). The organic layer was concentrated to give crude product.
