Procedure

To the product from Step C (2.95 g, 8.05 mmol) was added EtOH (30 mL, anhydrous). To this solution was added 2-hydrazinylpyridine (0.967 g, 8.86 mmol). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 24 hours. The resulting precipitate was isolated by vacuum filtration and washed with cold EtOH and then dried in vacuo to afford 2.98 g (73%) of the desired product.

Workup

  1. customThe resulting precipitate was isolated by vacuum filtration
  2. washwashed with cold EtOH
  3. customdried in vacuo
