Reaction Steps

2-Nitro-4-trifluoromethyl-benzoic acid (3.07 g, 13.0 mmol) was stirred with Pd/C under hydrogen atmosphere for 2 hrs. The reaction mixture was filtered with celite to remove Pd/C. The filterate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was extracted with CH2Cl2 (30 ml×3) and H2O (30 ml). The combined organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and then concentrated to yield title compound (2.66 g, 99%).
