9-(3-Bromophenyl)phenanthrene was synthesized by the same method, except that in Synthetic Example 1, 9-phenanthreneboronic acid was used in place of 2-naphthaleneboronic acid and that 3-bromoiodobenzene was used in place of 4-bromoiodobenzene.
