Reaction Steps
A solution of (±)-2-amino-5-nitroindane-2-carboxamide, trifluoroacetate salt (described in Intermediate 3, 25.0 mg, 0.075 mmol), 2,2-dimethylpropanoyl chloride (0.011 mL, 0.089 mmol), and triethylamine (0.026 mL, 0.186 mmol) in THF (5 mL) was stirred at ambient temperature for 16 h. The reaction mixture was poured onto saturated NH4Cl (10 mL) and extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×10 mL). A solid precipitate was filtered and collected, then dissolved in MeOH and combined with the organic layers. The combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound. MS: m/z=306 (M+1).
