To a solution of 6-chloro-7-(4-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-hydroxyethylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylic acid (0.046 g, 0.092 mmol) in methanol (1 ml) was added 0.5M sodium methanolate in methanol (0.18 ml, 0.092 mmol), and the reaction was stirred at ambient temperature for 16 hours. It was concentrated, taken up in dichloromethane and hexanes, and concentrated again to yield 46 mg of the title compound (96% yield). MS (apci) m/z=501.8 (M−Na+2H).
