To a solution of ethyl 3-cyclopropyl-3-(3-(((2′-fluoro-5′-methoxy-2-neopentyl-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)oxy)methyl)phenyl)propanoate (305 mg) in THF (6.0 mL) and methanol (12 mL) was added 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (5.9 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (282 mg) as a pale-yellow oil.
