Reaction Steps
To a solution of 2-(5-(tert-butyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-2′-fluoro-5′-methoxy-[1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl pivalate (191 mg) in methanol (2.0 mL) and THF (2.0 mL) was added 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1.3 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 40 min. Water and hydrochloric acid were added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (113 mg) as a white amorphous solid.
