Procedure

5-[4-[(2-Methoxyphenylacetyl)amino]phenyl]-1H-naphtho[1,2-b][1,4]diazepine-2,4(3H,5H)-dione (50 mg, 0.11 mmol) obtained in Example 22 was dissolved in dry dichloromethane (20 mL), the solution was added with a 1 M solution of boron tribromide in dichloromethane (0.22 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. The solvent was evaporated, the residue was added with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate layer was washed with saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was washed with ethyl acetate to give the title compound (14 mg, yield 28%) as pale yellow crystals.
