N-(4-Methyl-3-nitrophenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide (10.6 g, 32.7 mmol) obtained in Step (1) was stirred in a solvent of methanol. The reaction solution was mixed with Pd/C (1 g, 9.40 mmol), followed by stirring under hydrogen conditions for about 2 hours at room temperature. The reaction mixture was filtered through a Celite pad under reduced pressure, and washed with methanol. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (8.9 g, 93%).
