Methyl 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,4-dimethyl-3-(4-sulfamoylphenyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxylate (compound 49γ, 1.6 g, 3.82 mmol) was suspended in ethanol (100 ml) and treated with solution of NaOH (0.76 g 19.13 mmol) in water (20 ml) at 0° C. The reaction mixture was then heated at 80° C. under stirring for 15 h. The progress of the reaction was monitored by TLC. The reaction mixture was then concentrated under reduced pressure. The reaction mixture was then treated with dilute HCl to bring pH of the mixture to between 6 and 7. The obtained mixture was then extracted with ethyl acetate (2×100 ml). The combined organic layer was then dried over anhydrous Na2SO4. The solvent was evaporated from the dried organic layer under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (1.3 g, 84.4%).
