Reaction Steps

To a solution of 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran (350 mg, 1.80 mmol) in ethyl acetate (8 mL) was added platinum oxide (41 mg, 0.18 mmol) and the reaction was charged with a hydrogen balloon and stirred at room temperature for 6 hours. The reaction was filtered, and the filtrate was evaporated to give crude title compound (340 mg, 96.3%) as white solid.
