A mixture of 1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-5-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)-3-((trimethylsilyl)ethynyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (95 mg, 268 μmol, Eq: 1.00) and sodium hydroxide sol. 1N (0.1 ml) in methanol (3 ml) was stirred for 18 hours at 25° C. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with water, the organic layer was separated, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtrated and evaporated affording 3-ethynyl-1-(4-methoxy-benzyl)-5-pyrrolidin-1-yl-1H-[1,2,4]triazole (83 mg/110%) as a yellow oil. MS: m/e=283.4 (M+H+)
