In a similar manner to that described for the preparation of 2-(3-(bromomethyl)-1H-indazol-1-yl)benzonitrile except in Step 1 the mixture was diluted with H2O and in Step 2 the mixture was heated at reflux overnight, 6-fluoro-3-methyl-1H-indazole (2 g, 13.3 mmol) and 2-fluorobenzonitrile (1.73 mL, 16 mmol) were converted to the title compound (800 mg, 61%) as an off white solid.
