In a similar manner to that described for the preparation of 2-(3-(bromomethyl)-1H-indazol-1-yl)benzonitrile except in Step 1 the mixture was diluted with H2O and in Step 2 the mixture was heated at reflux overnight, 6-bromo-3-methyl-1H-indazole (1 g, 4.74 mmol) and 2-fluorobenzonitrile (0.617 mL, 5.69 mmol) were converted to the title compound (800 mg, 64%) as an off white solid.
